The show is based on the comics by iconic author Neil Gaiman and follows Morpheus, aka Dream (Tom Sturridge), a lost object of power after he is finally freed from decades of imprisonment. The story depicts the mission to restore order to the kingdom.

'Sandman' season 2 release date prediction
There's no confirmed release date yet, but it looks like Sandman Season 2 won't hit our screens until at least late 2024.
Season 2 has officially entered production, with the announcement coming on the 35th anniversary of the iconic graphic novel.
Gaiman shared the news in a letter and gave us some hints about what we can expect in season 2.
The last part of it reads: “This week, we officially resume production on the next set of Sandman stories for Netflix, with genius showrunner Alan Heinberg in front of and behind the camera. These stories are brought to life in ways never before imagined.
“Begins a journey that will take us from the Garden of Fate to Hell, from the heart of dreams to ancient Greece and revolutionary France, and from there to places even I could never imagine on screen. I will persevere. . Good things are coming.” “
The first season of The Sandman took nearly two years to produce, with filming beginning in October 2020 and the completed project ultimately arriving on Netflix in August 2022.

In fact, in November 2019, Neil Gaiman revealed that he was already making plans for a second season.

Over 30 years in the making, Season 1 only draws from two of the original ten volumes, meaning there are still plenty of stories to tell.

“One of the things I'm looking forward to about 'The Sandman' is that we get to meet more people in Season 2,” Gaiman said in an interview with RadioTimes.com.
