A video has gone viral on social media showing nurses scrambling to support newborn babies in cribs at a Taiwanese hospital during Wednesday's earthquake.
When a magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck the island nation, four nurses at a Taipei hospital rushed to the incubator in the neonatal ward and gathered around 10 cots as the shaking continued.
According to the BBC, staff were worried that a nearby window might break and injure the baby.
Rescuers searched for missing people and carried out rescue operations on Thursday as hundreds of people were left stranded as 10 people died and 1,000 were injured in the country's worst earthquake.
At least four of the 10 people died in Taroko National Park, a tourist destination known for its canyons and cliffs in mountainous Hualien County, about 150 kilometers from Taipei. One person was found dead in a damaged building, and the other was found in Whalen Quarry. Rescuers also recovered the body of a man with severe head injuries from a hiking trail.
Hundreds of people were stranded as roads to hotels, campsites and work sites were blocked by rocks and mud, but most made it to safety while awaiting rescue. It was not yet clear Thursday whether anyone was trapped inside the building.
