Following the reveal of two new LEGO Speed Champions builds yesterday, everyone's favorite brick-building company has given us a first look at the next addition to its line of tribute sets to historical figures: LEGO Tribute to Jules Verne Books (40690). Taking you on a daring, adventurous journey, this build pays tribute to three of Verne's most famous stories. Read on for more details:
While there aren't many details yet about its availability, some key information has been provided to at least give us an idea of what to expect from a design perspective: As mentioned earlier, the new building pays homage to three of Jules Verne's most imaginative and beloved 19th century novels that take us on adventures outside of our usual comfort zones: Around the World in Eighty Days, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, and Five Weeks in a Balloon.
Stackable with up to 351 individual pieces, the completed model is packed with these famous tales and their respective key modes of transport: Captain Nemo's submarine jutting out of the water, a train crossing over a bridge (no doubt carrying Phileas Fogg) and even Dr Samuel Ferguson's eponymous hot air balloon floating high above, all housed in a stylish book-themed frame, with an exclusive Jules Verne minifigure to complete the package.
The kit will apparently be available as a bonus with purchase in the near future, and will be included with a limited number of orders once it's released (presumably only for LEGO Insiders). Beyond these details, there isn't much information available about when it will be released or if it will be available to purchase separately.
