1. It's no surprise that last night's debate is the top of “That's Trending” today. Overall, most news sources seem to agree that both candidates got the facts wrong, but it was Trump who got it the most. On the other side of the podium, the panic in the Democrats seems so strong that the Democratic National Convention may present an alternative candidate to President Joe Biden.
2. Oklahoma State Superintendent Ryan Walters has ordered the teaching of the Bible in public schools. At yesterday's Board of Education meeting, Walters stated that the Bible will now be mandatory in public schools. Specifically, Bibles will be required in every classroom for students in grades 5-12, and schools will be required to use the Bible in their educational curriculum.
3. NASA has awarded SpaceX $843 million to develop and build a spacecraft to safely remove the International Space Station from orbit around 2030. Presumably by then, the Boeing Starliner and its crew will have been rescued.
4. A blood center in Rockford, Illinois, recently got creative. On Wednesday, the center partnered with Life Cannabis Dispensary to launch a mobile blood drive called “Bleed for Weed,” which is exactly what it sounds like: all donors can choose between marijuana or edibles in exchange for their blood. Next month, the center may partner with Jack Daniels to launch an “Ooze for Booze” blood drive.
5. And there's a new exercise trend: gas. Fart walking. Yes, it's exactly what it sounds like. A Canadian cookbook author and many digestive experts say it actually has scientific backing when it comes to aiding digestion and lowering blood sugar.
