The Greater Savannah Black Chamber of Commerce is proud to present the highly anticipated Black Business Expo showcasing the vibrant entrepreneurial spirit and economic strength of the Black community. Taking place on Saturday, August 3rd from 11am-5pm at the Hyatt Regency Harborside Ballroom, the expo will be a celebration of innovation, resilience and collective empowerment.
With a wealth of Black-owned businesses across a variety of industries, the Black Business Expo serves as a dynamic platform for entrepreneurs to network, collaborate and grow their businesses. From startups to established companies, attendees will have the opportunity to connect with diverse businesses that embody a spirit of creativity and excellence.
The expo aims to foster economic growth and prosperity in the Black community by promoting entrepreneurship, supporting local businesses and encouraging investment opportunities. Attendees can discover a wide range of products and services proudly created and handpicked by Black entrepreneurs, from fashion and beauty to technology and finance.
The Black Business Expo will showcase entrepreneurial talent from the Greater Savannah region as well as feature engaging panel discussions and keynote speakers designed to support aspiring business owners and foster meaningful dialogue around economic empowerment and social change.

Colonial Terminal’s Pratt Summers interviews former President George W. Bush at the ILTA Conference

Colonial Terminals’ ILTA board chairman Pratt Summers interviewed President George W. Bush in Houston.
Pratt Summers, vice president of Colonial Terminals in Savannah, had the honor of interviewing former President George W. Bush at the International Liquid Terminals Association’s 2024 Annual Conference and Trade Show, held in Houston from May 6 to 8. Summers conducted the interview as part of his duties as ILTA’s board chairman.
“It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet and interview the 43rd president,” Summers said. “My respect for Mr. Bush has only grown.”
During the wide-ranging 90-minute interview, the former president spoke about his motivations for getting into politics, U.S. energy policy, modern world leaders, and a variety of other topics, including his motivation for honoring those wounded in the line of his command in his portrait collection, “Portraits of Courage: A Commander in Chief’s Tribute to America’s Warriors.”
ILTA is an advocate and key resource for the liquid storage tank industry. The lobbying group is headquartered in the Washington, DC area and advocates for the liquid storage tank industry before Congress and various federal agencies. ILTA also maintains close working relationships with other organizations involved in the tank storage industry.
Summers is currently serving as chair of the ILTA board of directors for one year. He has been vice president of Colonial Terminals, a subsidiary of Savannah-based Colonial Group, for about 15 years. Colonial Group is a privately held, family-owned company that specializes in energy, distribution, storage and logistics. Summers has been with the company for 27 years, becoming vice president in 2009.
