Bear has some explaining to do. The Season 3 finale ended with an ominous “To be continued,” in which Carmie (Jeremy Allen White) pored over horrific reviews for a struggling restaurant and Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) considered dropping it all and taking a more lucrative offer. Christopher Stoller’s drama-comedy has been renewed for a fourth season (and has reportedly already wrapped filming), but until it premieres, we can only speculate.
While we patiently wait for the return of the chef’s white coat, keep reading to learn everything we currently know about The Bear season 4.

The Bear Season 4 release date predictions
While FX has yet to announce an official release date, it’s worth noting that Deadline reported earlier this year that seasons 3 and 4 will be filmed back-to-back. The Bear is unusual for a TV show in the streaming era in maintaining a consistent release strategy, with each episode thus far being released in June, but this filming schedule, along with the “To be continued” title card at the end of the season 3 finale, suggests we might be seeing new episodes a little sooner.
The Bear Season 4 Cast
The entire kitchen staff will be returning for Season 4. Joining the main cast – Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss Bachrach, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colon Zayas, Abbie Elliott and Mattie Matheson – will also be returning: Edwin Lee Gibson, Corey Hendricks, Oliver Platt, Molly Gordon and Ricky Staffieri.
Bear has become synonymous with big-name guest stars, with season three appearances including John Cena as Sammy Fuck and Josh Hartnett as Tiff’s (Gillian Jacobs) fiancé Frank. Also appearing frequently in flashbacks are Jon Bernthal as Carmie’s deceased brother Mikey and Joel McHale as Carmie’s abusive ex-boss in New York, David Fields. Past guest stars include Jamie Lee Curtis as Donna, the unstable Belzatto family matriarch, Will Poulter as Carmie’s past chef, Luca, and Olivia Colman as chef Andrea Terry. Any of them could reprise their roles in season four, and we’re sure season four will feature a whole new crop of big names.
Main cast:
Jeremy Allen White (as Carmy Belzatto), Ayo Edebiri (as Sydney Adam), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (as Richie Jerimovich), Lionel Boyce (as Marcus Brooks), Liza Colon-Zayas (as Tina Marrero), Abby Elliott (as Natalie “Sugar” Belzatto), Matty Matheson (as Neil Fack)
What’s in store for The Bear season 4?
The Bear season 3 ended on a cliffhanger, so it looks like season 4 will continue that storyline. The restaurant critics’ final verdict on The Bear was not revealed in the season 3 finale. Meanwhile, Sydney was last seen toying with an offer from Chef Shapiro (Adam Shapiro) to recruit her to his new restaurant. To be continued indeed!
