This innovative feature frees travelers from the hassle of scrolling through social media to find past recommendations and new inspiration, providing a more efficient and convenient experience.
On-site in Las Vegas, B&T received an exclusive preview of the new storefront from Oika Raymond and Brent Conti, two of the 14 influencer partners who launched exclusive new products.
This new storefront is not only useful for travelers, but also a powerful tool for content creators. This will allow you to earn commissions, increase visibility, and most importantly, customize your own personalized space for your travel content. Through this feature, Expedia strengthens and recognizes the creativity and expertise of its content creators.
The platform was developed with the knowledge that 80% of travelers use social media to guide their travel plans and 69% trust influencer recommendations more than ads or sponsored content. Jochen Koedijk, his CMO at Expedia Group, said:
“Travel Shop is a first-of-its-kind travel platform that bridges the gap between content creators and travelers, creating a central hub for curated travel recommendations and a seamless shopping experience. We give creators the tools to build their own marketplaces, allowing them to easily share travel recommendations and offer more personalized experiences to travelers.”
“Influencers are a new class of travel agents, but until today they lacked the tools,” said Lauri Metroz, senior vice president of communications at Expedia Group, in a live discussion about the product launch. Ta.
“The travel category is one of the most profitable categories. And there's never been a tool that allows you to monetize it. That's what we do at Travel Shop.”
By the end of the year, the Travel Shop will be open to all users. “Anyone who loves to travel will have access to it. It's like his Amazon storefront for travel,” Metros says.
