Louisville, Kentucky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced Thursday afternoon that seven Hokies received Division I All-Region honors. All award-winning student-athletes will be eligible for a spot on his 2024 NFCA Division I All-America National Team.
Emma Lemley, Emma Ritter, Addie Green, Cori McMillan, Cameron Fagan and Bre Peck all land on the first team in the Mid-Atlantic region. Freshman Michelle Chatfield secures second team in the Mid-Atlantic Region.
Lemley was named to the first team for the third consecutive year. The right-handed pitcher ranks fourth in the ACC with 151 strikeouts this year. He has a 2.62 ERA and 12 wins in 30 ring appearances. He also has two shutouts and two saves this season.
All three Hokie outfielders, Ritter, Green and McMillan, earned first-team spots. Ritter leads the team with a .430 batting average and is one of six players in the ACC with a batting average over .400. She had a team-leading 77 hits, 11 doubles, 14 home runs, and 58 RBIs. The center fielder hasn't committed an error this season and has recorded just two errors in her career.
Green is still batting over .400 this season and leads the team with an OBP of .516. Additionally, he led the team with 34 walks and 15 doubles on the year. She is fifth in the conference with a .804 SLG%.
McMillan leads the ACC and is tied for seventh in the nation with 20 home runs on the year. In addition to that, she recorded an .881 SLG% and her 60 RBI. She stole 20 bases on the season, which is perfect.
Fagan and Peck represent first-team infielders. In his fourth year, Fagan is hitting .373 with 11 doubles, 10 home runs, and 48 RBIs. The second baseman committed just two errors on the season and dished out 75 assists.
Peck has a .348 batting average, 57 hits, and 13 home runs. He also had 51 RBIs for the Hokies as a junior.
Chatfield was assigned to the second team after an unusual freshman season with 19 home runs and a .736 SLG percentage. She ranks fifth in the ACC with 31 walks.
