The wave of tech layoffs appears to be continuing with TikTok making significant headcount cuts.
TikTok notified employees this week that it plans to lay off a number of people from its operations, content and marketing departments, anonymous staffers who first reported the news on Tuesday told The Information. Affected employees will be notified either Wednesday night or Thursday morning, The Information reports.
It's unclear how many people will be laid off, but anonymous employees told the outlet that TikTok will eliminate its global user operations team and that team members who weren't fired will join other departments.
The video-sharing app already laid off dozens of employees earlier this year, but TikTok has hardly undertaken the kind of large-scale layoffs common at other tech companies, The Information noted.
TikTok did not immediately respond to Business Insider's request for comment.
