Going on vacation is a lot of fun. But it can also be very expensive. You don't want to spend all your money on a vacation… but budgeting can be so hard when you're trying to live your best life. Every Girl created a list of ways to save money on vacation and I'd like to add a few more to this list.
Let's start with flights. Shop around. I think one of the best ways is Google Flights, not Travelocity or other third-party sales sites. It shows multiple airlines and organizes them from cheapest to highest price. You can also use the “Maps” feature to set your departure location and dates, but not your destination. This will allow you to see where your city has cheap flights on those dates.
Another thing we do before traveling is research. This seems a bit old-fashioned, but Lonely Planet is a great resource offering recommendations for travelers of all economic levels.
Lastly, when it comes to tours, my favorite site is Viator, which is like an Angies list for excursions. That being said, be sure to read the comments!
Well, here are The Every Girl Hacks that you can do before and during your trip to help you save money: By implementing these 10 things, you can enjoy your vacation without breaking the bank.
Avoid peak times of the day Look for last minute deals Keep an eye out for free activities Watch out for tourist scams Do as the locals do Think before you buy Look for bundle deals Budget for one indulgent meal each day Take advantage of free hotel amenities Rethink your souvenir strategy
