The Calgary Stampede has removed more than 50 new intermediate food items for 2024.
This list is divided into six unique categories: new twists on old favorites, treating yourself, pickled poutine, corn!, adding a little spice, and easy-drinking fun.

Bao buns seem to be the main event this year, with four options available. The Lobster Bao is said to be a classic New England lobster roll with an Asian twist, and the Golden Spider Bao features soft shell crab coated in a garlicky salty egg yolk. Boler Bao is a combination of these two. His fourth bao bun on the list is Chicken 65, which is crispy chicken tossed with Indo-Chinese 65 sauce.

This year's Midway Cuisine features unique takes on classic fair foods such as hot dogs, burgers and ice cream. The hot dog has been transformed into a hot dog/corn dog hybrid, the burgers on the list use watermelon slices instead of a bun, and the ice cream is flavorful rather than sweet.
The dill pickle flavor is so popular that it has established its own category featuring four different pickle poutines. This category includes Flamin' Hot Pickle Pizza, proving that the cheat fair food trend is still on the rise.
The drinks seem ordinary by traditional Calgary Stampede standards, but the most inventive drinks are the Chamoy Lemonade and Gold Rush Bucket. Chamoy Lemonade is a classic spicy-sweet lemonade infused with Chamoy and topped with chili lime seasoning and peach rings. The Gold Rush Bucket is a classic lemonade made with aloe and topped with edible gold, real cactus, and a cowboy hat.
Here are five of the boldest foods from the lineup and their descriptions.
cheeseburger ice cream
This meat-free, vanilla-flavored barbecue-flavored ice cream is served in a waffle cone, dipped in warm cheese and sprinkled with sesame seeds. Serve with onion rings and pickles.

mexican street corn ice cream
Vanilla-flavored cone ice cream with all the fixins is served in a mayo-parmesan cone, topped with tagine spices, and garnished with lime wedges and, of course, the cone.
pickle fried poutine
Pickle fries, also known as “pickle fries,'' made famous in 2023, have found a way to become an even more Canadian poutine. Dill meets something delicious. These pickle fries are salted, seasoned and deep-fried, topped with a generous amount of Quebec curd and drizzled with hot gravy.
watermelon burger
Piping hot on a freshly baked watermelon sesame bun…? Yes, ditch the bread and go stampede with a watermelon burger with feta, spinach, fresh mint and a balsamic reduction.
Takis mini donuts
“Takis Mini Donuts” made by a newly graduated pastry chef are characterized by Takis and a unique special sauce, and are a must-try for those looking for the latest in delicious mini donuts.
