And thus the first food review video was born, sampling three Costco hummus dips.
But it wasn't until a week after posting that I realized it was resonating with a wider audience.
“I didn't even know how to check the number of views,” Meg laughs. “But my other daughter, Avery, saw it and said it was a huge hit. I think it was viewed about 11,000 times.”
Still, Meg and Maddie weren't convinced to make another one until Avery casually commented that “everyone's got at least one exploding video,” Maddie says. says.
“We looked at each other and thought, 'This is the game,'” Meg says.
The next day, the mother-daughter team made another video. And another one right after that. So far, they've posted hundreds of videos on both Instagram and TikTok, in which they review everything from pre-packaged frozen gelato cups to pickle-flavored jelly beans. .

Maddy agrees. “Our followers range from her in her teens to her in her 70s. We have a lot of followers in all age groups.”
He shoots all his videos in one take and never edits the reaction to the first bite, no matter how negative, which resonates with his followers.
“People like that we're honest and honest about our reviews,” Meg says, noting that they both agree about the most exhausting one ever (“Costco's You can't go wrong with calamari,'' Maddie says.
