SARANAC LAKE — The Adirondack Health Foundation is hosting a raffle for an antique wooden runabout donated by former Upper Saranac residents Joe and Charlotte Britt.
The 14-foot Peterborough boat has a 15-horsepower outboard motor and seats five people. The boat is now named “Ama and Grandpa,” as Blitz's grandchildren call it. This boat was built in 1940 at the Peterborough Canoe Factory in Ontario, Canada. Originally owned by former New York Governor and Vice President of the United States Levi Morton, it was restored by Joe Britt.
The winning ticket will be drawn at Adirondack Health's annual gala on Saturday, July 6, at Paul Smith College on the Lower St. Regis Shores. Ticket holders do not need to be present to win.
Tickets are $20 for one ticket or $100 for six tickets.
