Miami, Florida–(Newsfile Corp. – May 28, 2024) – It's Bigger Than Us (IBTU), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting health equity and addressing the social determinants of health, is proud to announce that it will be hosting a community health and resource event in collaboration with Aetna, a CVS Health Company. The transformative event is scheduled to take place at Notre Dame Nacchi Catholic Church on June 23, 2024, and aims to uplift the Miami community by providing essential health resources and support.

The event will offer a variety of free health resources, engaging activities, fun games, delicious food and, most notably, significant giveaways including 50,000 diapers, 1,000 toothbrushes and 300 wet wipes. Participants will also have access to a variety of health screenings and educational resources to promote better health.
Aetna, a CVS Health company, will deploy a mobile unit called Project Health, which aims to bring health everywhere, to the site to provide additional resources and health screenings, including cholesterol, blood pressure, blood glucose, BMI, depression (PHQ-2) assessments and bone density testing for osteoporosis. Backpacks filled with donations from Baby2Baby and Miami Diaper Bank will also be distributed. The University of Miami Institute for Clinical and Translational Sciences will provide valuable health information and encourage participation in research studies. Liberty Dental Plan will provide dental education and hygiene supplies to ensure comprehensive care.

IBTU founders and supporting partners shared their thoughts on the importance of the event and the collaborative efforts that came with it:
Tyrone Nance, founder and CEO of IBTU, highlighted the organization's commitment to building community and closing gaps in access to health equity. “Through community work centered around health equity, we not only address immediate health needs, but foster lasting relationships. Our goal is to create an environment where all members have the support they need to thrive, which is fundamental to maintaining a healthy community.”
Molly Morrow, Chief Operating Officer of IBTU, emphasized the importance of meticulous logistics and creative direction to make each event meaningful: “My role is to bring each event to life through precise logistics and creative direction. By focusing on impactful events, we can truly make a difference and contribute to improving health outcomes and strengthening community bonds.”

“We are honored to partner with It's Bigger Than Us and join them in addressing important issues such as improving children's academic success, food insecurity and community support,” said Jennifer Sweet, CEO of Aetna Better Health of Florida. “We are committed to helping people in under-resourced communities achieve their best health and know that improving health starts with good nutrition, access to a quality education and the tools and resources they need to succeed in school.”
Kenasha Paul, JD, founder and CEO of the Black Professional Network (BPN), highlighted the collaborative spirit of the event: “Led by Tyrone, who also serves as vice president of our LA chapter, this effort represents BPN's core values of collaboration and service. This event showcases the collaborative efforts of BPN Miami and BPN LA to serve and uplift our community.”
