A well-meaning Michigan mother gifted her daughter a truly terrifying candy masterpiece for her 12th birthday.
The footage, filmed by Jennifer West, shows the creepy cake she made for her daughter Ava Grace's birthday.
“Someone call the Food Network,” West said, holding out the cake.
West said she makes a cake for her daughter every year.
“Every year it doesn't work out so well, but every year she's happy. It's kind of become a tradition for us,” West said.
“Ava said the cake was amazing. She put her hands on her cheeks, started laughing and gave me a hug. She said it was her favorite cake I'd ever made,” she added.
The cake, which prompted TikTok comments to question whether it was a cat or a dog, was made of red velvet with cream cheese buttercream frosting and “held together with candy apple sticks and chopsticks,” West said.
“I want to go on record as saying the cake tasted amazing, it just didn't look very good. It's the feeling that counts, right? Almost everyone at the party had a second serving. My family laughed at the cake. My ex-husband laughed so hard he cried,” West told Storyful. Credit: Jennifer West via Storyful
