Valerie Bertinelli is taking a mental health break from social media after participating in a book promotion tour for Indulge: Delicious and Decadent Dises to Enjoy and Share.
“The last six weeks or so… have been really tough,” Bertinelli said in an Instagram post. “And while I'm incredibly grateful for your support of my book and all the people I've been lucky enough to meet, this introvert in extrovert's clothes has a lot of mental health issues. I need some rest.”
she continued. “I know, I know, this isn't an airport, so there's no need to announce your departure. I know some people will worry about me if I don't post often enough.”
Bertinelli assured her followers that she was fine, saying: “It's good to take a little social media cleanse, detox and take a mental health break.”
“I'm grateful to be in a position in my life where I can fully recognize when I'm feeling overwhelmed and mentally and emotionally exhausted,” she added. “Everyone, please be careful. He'll be back before you know it.”
The former Food Network star recently told People that “the cookbook was a byproduct of the emotional and spiritual healing that I was doing,” adding: Why did I think I wasn't worthy of being loved? Why did I use food to numb my emotions? All the drama and trauma I couldn't handle regarding Ed and my last marriage. ”
Bertinelli shares her story in the cookbook through her favorite recipes. The One Day At a Time alum kicked off her Book Her Tour on April 2nd at Long Island Her Lit Fest and recently concluded it in Nashville, Tennessee on May 17th.
