Three medical facilities in Yellowknife will move into renovated old hospitals in the city, with the transition beginning Friday, May 24.
Frame Lake Clinic and Yellowknife Primary Care Clinic will each relocate their services to the Łıwegǫ̀atì building, the new name for the renovated former Stanton Territorial Hospital (now next door to the new Stanton; that building became the main hospital in 2019).

From May 24th to May 30th, same-day appointments will be available at our existing primary care center in downtown Yellowknife.

If you make a same-day reservation after May 30th, “you will be notified of your reservation location.” The reservation location could be either downtown or in a new building. If you are unsure and would like someone to confirm your reservation location, you can call 867-767-9294.
Number to call
Health officials say the clinic's existing phone number will remain available and will simply be redirected to the appropriate location if needed.
For a detailed list of telephone numbers for medical or rehabilitation services in Yellowknife, use the health authority's website.
“Outpatient rehabilitation services will not be available during the relocation, but appointments can be made by phone from May 30 onwards,” health officials said.
“In addition to the old number, a new central telephone number for the Łıwegǫ̀atì building will be operational in the coming weeks. Information regarding the telephone number will be communicated before the change.”
what's next
The second phase, scheduled to begin in June, will move staff and patients from the extended care unit at Stanton Territorial Hospital to a dedicated unit in the Łıwegǫ̀atì building.
The long-term care facility will be the last to open in the new building later this year.
