“Feeling tired and nauseous is a big part of my daily life. I feel hungover and pregnant every day, which is not fun,” she said.
“Being true to myself, the day I moved was the day I started chemo – I don't do things by halves,” added Mel, who recently emigrated to the UK from Australia with her husband Gareth and daughter Maddie.
“It was a tough time getting used to the situation and moving in, but Gareth has done the majority of the moving work so it was great that he was willing to help.”

The reality TV star has continued to work whilst undergoing treatment, which she said has had a positive effect on her mental health.
“I had to adjust my work schedule so that I wasn't filming close to my chemotherapy treatments. I like to maximize my energy,” she said.
“My work is very important to me. Yes, it takes energy, but it gives me energy. I get a lot out of it and I need it. If I sat on the couch watching TV all day, I'd probably go crazy. So I'm juggling my physical health as well as my mental health.”
