Do you have any thoughts about trash?
The City of Winnipeg is seeking resident feedback on proposals for improvements to the city's trash and recycling programs as part of a review of its waste management strategy, which dates back to 2011.
City officials last fall solicited input from the public and stakeholders on ways to improve trash and recycling programs and services, and compiled that feedback into several recommendations.
It's the email you need to stay up to date with the day's top stories from Canada and around the world.
Among the recommendations are increasing waste diversion and keeping ineligible items out of trash and recycling bins, increasing resident participation in recycling programs, having better planning and improving the city's waste management operations.
Two open houses will be held in June for residents to learn more about the recommendations and provide feedback – June 13 at EQ Lounge in The Forks and June 20 at the Cindy Classen Recreation Complex. Additionally, an online survey will be available through June 27.
