The Savory Sarnia Food Truck Festival, now in its second year, will be held Friday at the Hiawatha Horse Park and Entertainment Centre.
The event, hosted by Gateway Casinos and Hiawatha, will run from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Stephanie McLean, guest services manager at Gateway Casino, said eight food trucks will be available this year, up from four last year.
“There's a really wide variety of food trucks this year,” she said.[For] Entertainment this year will feature First Lady of Bluewater Country, Joan Spalding, performing from 4.30pm to 7pm, followed by Colt McLauchlin from 7.30pm to 9pm.
Food trucks participating in the event are Match on the Move, Truckin' Mamas on the Run, Ice Cream Lady, OMG Poutine, Big Daddy's Chip Truck, All Fired Up, Captain Mark's Fish and Chips and Bluewater Gourmet Catering.
McLean said the event has received a lot of positive feedback.
“The only thing we were missing was we weren't expecting as many visitors as we did last year, so we probably needed more food trucks,” she said.
MacLean hopes to continue hosting such an event annually.
“I think what we're going to do going forward is just keep on progressing and improving and getting better every year,” she said.
The event is free, but donations will be accepted for local charities.
Although it's an outdoor event, organizers are asking attendees to leave their pets at home.
