Chatham-Kent Community Health Centre is welcoming a new family physician to its team.
However, he is not currently accepting new clients.
Dr Murray Shah will join CKCHC in Chatham from Monday 10th June.
Dr Shah is from Australia and has been working as a family physician since August 2018.
He received his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Sydney and completed his Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
“My family and I are excited to be joining the Chatham-Kent community. Earlier this year I had the amazing opportunity to work as an interim physician at CKCHC, which felt very similar to my practice in Australia,” Dr Shah said. “I understand the many health challenges facing regional and country towns and I look forward to using my experience to support this community.”
Dr. Shah also has close ties to Chatham-Kent, his wife and her family having lived in the municipality for over 40 years.
“I am grateful for the many opportunities Chatham-Kent offers and look forward to raising my family here,” said Dr. Shah. “I'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to CKCHC and the community for the warm welcome!”
Chatham-Kent Community Health Centre is mandated to provide primary health care, health promotion and community development services all under one roof, serving vulnerable populations and the entire Chatham-Kent region.
