Sheep River Health Trust will be hosting its 11th annual Radiothon on June 20 in partnership with The Eagle 100.9FM.
Sheep River Health Trust has partnered with The Eagle 100.9FM to host a nine-hour block party on Thursday, June 20th, both on-site and on air.
The 11th annual Radiothon, taking place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., aims to bring the community together in support of health and wellness.
This year's party will include Block Party Neighbors, a business that is raising funds around The Eagle's studios in Old Town Okotoks and donating its June sales to the Radiothon.
“Businesses are concerned about the health of their customers and the community, but with the economy still recovering, sponsorship isn't always an option for small business owners,” said Christine Oakes with Sheep River Health Trust. “They still want to support the radiothon, so the Block Party Neighbor option was created to get their neighbors involved in the radiothon. Every donation, big or small, matters.”
The goal for 2024 is to raise funds for 10 organizations and projects, including spiritual care, music therapy, school lunch programs and a therapeutic garden at Rising Sun Long Term Care.
The public is welcome to attend the block party, which will be held in the Eagle Parking Lot (22 Elizabeth St.). There will be hourly prizes, food trucks, a vendor market and more. Anyone who donates $25 or more will receive a “I Donated to Radiothon Block Party” sticker and will be eligible to win prizes at the block party.
Donations can be made online at sheepriverhealth.ca, by calling 403-995-5400 or by texting “Radiothon” to 20222.
