GAZA, June 10 (Xinhua) — An effort has been launched in the northern Gaza Strip city of Jabalia to distribute food to local residents who have recently returned to the city's refugee camps following the withdrawal of Israeli forces.
Large numbers of residents, including many children, have gathered at a school run by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East to receive food aid.
The United Nations Children's Fund warned that continued and intensifying Israeli attacks are severely deteriorating the nutritional situation of children in Palestinian territories, denying them access to safe drinking water, food and medicine.
