A health clinic that serves many people in the Greater Moncton area who suffer from homelessness, substance use and mental health issues has found a new home.
Salvus Clinic's new permanent location opened Monday at 1116 Mountain Road.
The opening comes nearly eight months after Salvus was forced to vacate its previous location on Church Street in the city's downtown.
The clinic closed in October 2023, but a mobile medical unit continued to provide basic medical needs to patients without a primary care physician.
Kathleen Buchanan, primary care manager for Moncton's Horizon Health Network, said in a news release that the past few months have been a challenge as they search for a new facility.
“We are excited to once again be able to provide a safe, accessible clinical space that is well equipped to meet the needs of our patients and clients,” she said.

Nurses will perform a variety of services, including regular health screenings, counselling, addiction management support, disease screening and prevention, vaccinations, blood tests and referrals to local specialists.
Serving communities in the greater Moncton area since 2007, Salvus provides care to approximately 4,200 people.
“I would like to sincerely thank our patients for their patience and understanding as we navigate these challenges, and the incredible Salvus team for their hard work and dedication to serving their patients. We know how much this clinic is needed in the community and are pleased that we finally have a new home,” Mr Buchanan said.
