BMW has updated its 2 Series Coupe range for global markets, including the M2. The M2 gets the biggest change, with its 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder petrol engine now stronger, giving it power and torque on par with the larger M3 and M4. The whole range also gets updates, with new exterior colours, alloy wheels, updated technology and some feature changes.

The M2 now comes with the option of silver alloy wheels.
Let's start with the M2. At first glance, there aren't many changes to this high-performance coupe. The design remains mostly unchanged for the 2024 update, with the most notable changes being new alloy wheels, blacked-out M2 badges on the trunk, and a black-finished exhaust. As before, the M2 has a staggered wheel setup with 19-inch wheels at the front and 20-inch wheels at the rear, but they feature a new design. Black wheels are standard, but buyers can now opt for a silver finish.
A black-finished exhaust is now standard, and the M2 badging is now also black-finished.
Inside, the updated M2 gets a new BMW M steering wheel, an updated infotainment system and gauge cluster running BMW's latest OS 8.5. Other notable updates include tweaked air conditioning vent design, the option of red inserts on the standard sports seats, and M Carbon Racing seats are now offered as a standalone option. Previously, the seats were bundled with the M Race Track Pack.

But the highlight of the improved M2 is its engine: a 3.0-liter, turbocharged, in-line six-cylinder now produces 473 bhp and 600 Nm (550 Nm in manual guise). That's up from 446 bhp and is the same as in the larger M3 and M4. As before, power is sent to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox, with a six-speed manual also available as an option.
Inside, there are some slight styling updates, with red inserts on the seats now optional on the M2 and the screen now runs BMW OS 8.5.
Moving on to the standard 2 Series Coupe range, the Coupe receives similar updates inside the cabin, with the latest BMW OS 8.5 software and tweaks to the air conditioning vent design. On the outside, the 2 Series Coupe comes with the M Sport package as standard, giving the car sportier bumpers and trim elements across the range. Buyers can also option the M Sport Professional package, which offers cosmetic elements in a dark finish. All models also get new paint finishes, with Zandvoort Blue, previously exclusive to the M2, now being offered on the M240i.
