ORLANDO, Fla. — A local business owner is devastated after learning his food truck, Island Kitchen and Grill, was stolen overnight.
Store owner Odain Moanan said he discovered the store was missing when he went to open it Friday morning and immediately reported it to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
“I was just in shock, I didn't know what to do or what to think. I just knew that I had left it here and now it's not here anymore,” Ms Moanan said.
Mornun said he had been parking his food truck in the same spot on Edgewater Drive in Orlando for the past year and paid parking and service fees to the lot owner, so he felt safe knowing his truck wouldn't be towed away.
Moenan said that to steal a food truck, a thief would have to know how to hitch it to a moving vehicle, and he told Eyewitness News that the cameras inside the truck were blocked after the thief turned off the power.

“You literally have to plan it out on the track and come and say, 'Hey, let's hook it up,'” Maughan said.
The single father said he has been running the business since 2018 and has invested around $26,000 into it to support himself and his son.
He said after going through the uphill battle of running a food business during the pandemic, he was trying to figure out how to pay his bills with the loss of his only source of income.
“This isn't just a livelihood. I've put everything I have in this truck for the last six years,” Mournant said.

Mone said he's had to cancel a large catering job and lose weekend income since the truck went missing, and he fears he'll have to cancel more events in the coming weeks and lose even more money.
Moanan called his insurance company, but they told him they wouldn't cover the theft of a food truck.
Mornan urges anyone with information about the Island Kitchen and Grill food truck to call 911.
