In response, Swara wrote, “I honestly don't understand this self-righteous attitude of vegetarians. Your entire diet consists of denying calves their mother's milk, forcefully impregnating cows and separating them from their calves and stealing their milk.”
She also added, “Are you eating root vegetables? It will kill the whole plant! Don't show your virtue just because it's Bakr Eid! (Folded hands emoji).” Bakr Eid, also known as Eid ul-Adha, is celebrated on June 16 and 17.
Swara recently celebrated Eid.

Swara's tweet comes months after she celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr. She spent the festivities with her husband Fahad Ahmad and daughter Raabiya. Swara shared glimpses of her Eid celebrations on her Instagram stories. In one of the stories, Swara can be seen pointing at Eid ka Chand with Raabiya. In another picture, Swara, her daughter and Fahad pose for a family photo together. Swara is a Hindu, while Fahad is a Muslim.
When Swara talks about her and Fahad's culture
Last year, Swara hosted a Chhathi Puja for Rabiya. Sharing glimpses from the celebrations, she said she was able to find cultural similarities between her and Fahad's families. Swara wrote, “This child is a mix of us – 62.5% Uttar Pradesh, 12.5% Bihar and 25% Andhra. I am fully in favour of representative system and am always a part of celebrations. Moreover, since our marriage, I have discovered common cultural practices shared by Hindus and Muslims of North India. This strengthens my belief that despite all human diversity, love and joy find a common language.”

The caption read, “Chhathi or the sixth day of a child's life is celebrated all over Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, where mother and child wear haldi (turmeric) coloured clothes and aunties and buas pour kajal on the child, mother and father to protect the child and family from 'nazar' or evil eye! I am singing the popular 'Sohar' (newborn baby song). Traditionally Sohar is primarily for celebrating newborn boys, but I have adapted it for a newborn girl. Ahh! Mothers don't sing Sohar, sisters and aunties do, but I thought 'dholak a gaya hai' so why not! Thanks to Bhanuji @partapsinghb11 for making the dholak to make my song bearable and @manisha2967 for the chathi tutorial and the lovely song which I couldn't edit.”
