Hong Kong Special Administrative Region–(Newsfile Corp. – 18 June 2024) – Food Expo PRO and Hong Kong International Tea Fair, organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), will be held concurrently from 15 to 17 August 2024 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The fair will showcase food, beverages, tea and related products from around the world, providing a one-stop sourcing platform for food and beverage importers, wholesalers, retailers, restaurants, department stores and online retailers. The fair will be open to trade buyers only on the first two days, and will be open to public ticket holders on August 17. The concurrent public fairs, Food Expo, Beauty & Wellness Expo and Home Delight Expo, will be held at the same venue from 15 to 19 August. The five fairs are expected to attract approximately 2,000 exhibitors.

Food Expo PRO: Asia's leading food and beverage industry event
This year, Food Expo PRO will continue to feature pavilions from different countries and regions. In addition to pavilions from mainland China, Japan, South Korea and Mexico, ASEAN countries such as Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines will also participate, creating an international food festival. Sustainable eating has become a hot topic in the industry in recent years. The featured zone “Food Science and Technology” will introduce alternative and future foods to professional buyers. Another highlight is the presence of “Halal Food and Beverage”.
The prepared food market is also booming. Food Expo PRO will see exhibitors from mainland China showcasing a wide range of easy-to-prepare prepared foods, including unique flavours from different regions. Mainland Chinese provinces such as Fujian, Guizhou, Hunan, Sichuan and Zhejiang are expected to bring their local delicacies to Hong Kong to showcase to professional buyers.
Food Expo PRO will also feature a range of seminars and forums highlighting the latest trends and market opportunities in the food industry. The Food Tech Symposium session will bring together speakers to share the latest technological advancements and innovations in food production, the future of food and sustainability in the food industry. Recognizing the potential of the Halal market, this year's Food Expo PRO will explore its developments, opportunities and challenges, as well as in-depth discussions on Hong Kong's role in promoting Halal food trade in the region.

Hong Kong International Tea Expo: New Opportunities for Tea Business
The concurrent Hong Kong International Tea Expo will bring together a wide range of tea, tea-related products, tea utensils and other products. The 1st International Tea Event Spatial Design Competition 2024 aims to promote tea culture. Participants can present their original tea-serving spatial designs through the competition, and the shortlisted designs will be exhibited and judged during the fair. Another highlight of the fair is the Hong Kong International Tea Expo. Exhibitors' teas will be judged in six categories: green tea, oolong tea, black tea (orthodox), Chinese black tea (processed pu-erh), raw pu-erh, and other (white tea/yellow tea/scented tea)* (excluding herbal tea). The judging panel will award the winners with the “Best Aroma Award” and “Best Taste Award”. Visitors can enjoy free tasting of the winning teas on August 17. To promote the unique culture of Hong Kong-style milk tea, the Hong Kong International Tea Expo 2024 will also host the International and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Kamcha Competition Finals. Top tea masters will be selected to demonstrate their techniques and exquisite flavours of Hong Kong style milk tea making.
A variety of activities and events will be held every day at the fair. The first Hong Kong International Tea Culture Forum 2024 will be held on August 16th. The purpose of the forum is to create an international communication platform, promote tea culture and promote the international development of the tea industry. Other events such as tea tasting and international tea art performances provide an interesting look at the history and culture of tea. The “International and GBA Kamcha Competition-Hong Kong Style Milk Tea Final” will be held during the Hong Kong International Tea Fair, aiming to select Hong Kong style milk tea masters, show off the skills and unique taste of Hong Kong style milk tea production, and promote Hong Kong style milk tea culture.
The two fairs will continue to adopt the HKTDC's EXHIBITION+ model, integrating online and offline elements, and extending face-to-face interaction from physical events to the smart business platform Click2Match, and will be open to participants from 8 to 24 August.
In addition, the International Conference on Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Health Products (ICMCM), organised by the Modern Chinese Medicine International Association (MCMIA) in collaboration with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, 11 scientific research institutes and industry associations, will be held at the Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Centre on August 15 and 16, to provide professional insights on traditional Chinese medicine to the industry.
