This year, the fund will be allocated across three impact categories:
The Educational Scholarships category has awarded 30 full funding to attend Tales of the Cocktail in New Orleans, USA (July 2024) or Terra Madre Salone del Gusto in Turin, Italy (September 2024). These scholarships are designed to provide up-and-coming beverage industry professionals with essential training, networking opportunities and intensive education on sustainability. All applicants were of legal drinking age, currently working in the beverage industry and had a strong interest in incorporating Slow Food's core values of “good, clean and fair food and drink for all” into their professional endeavors.
The Negroni Week Innovation Awards recognize innovative, community-focused projects that champion the values of good, clean and fair in the beverage industry. Grants of $3,000-10,000 USD will be awarded to partnerships involving two or more organizations, at least one of which is active in the beverage sector. These projects are examples of creative solutions aimed at promoting sustainable practices and community resilience.
Finally, Slow Food Exchanges will facilitate transformative experiences that bring together hospitality professionals and sector-specific producers on a special invitation-only basis. Each Exchange will include immersive on-site experiences, in-depth forums, networking sessions and public events to foster collaborative dialogue and promote sustainable practices within the industry.
The selected winners represent a tapestry of rich backgrounds and innovative ideas that herald a bright future for the global food and beverage industry. Participating in these prestigious events will not only provide them with valuable learning opportunities but also a platform to showcase their efforts to industry leaders from around the world.
