The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Authority's board of directors has approved a strategic plan for 2024-2027.
“The plan is an evidence-based roadmap that will guide and prioritize programs and services to address the public health needs of the communities we serve,” the news release said.
Internal and external consultations were conducted, with input from 847 customers, residents, staff, management, board members and community partners.

The health department says it has used information from the consultation stage to identify three strategic priorities.
Organizational health promotes engagement, learning, health, and development in our culture. Health equity promotes community attention and allocation of health unit resources to address social determinants of health. Communication, connection, and collaboration strengthen external relationships to improve public health outcomes.
“Through thorough consultation within the community and health unit, and deep, thoughtful integration of the feedback we received, we have identified three strategic priorities that reflect the needs highlighted during the consultation,” explains Medical Director of Health Dr. Carol Zimbaratti. “This strategic plan will help guide our organization and ensure our services and programs are working towards our vision of a healthy community for all.”
