The weekend is fast approaching and you're not sure what to eat?
Fall River Eats brings you a weekly roundup of new menus, food events and specials coming to the area across the region.
A new local market is opening this week, but its items will be familiar to most in the Swansea area, and Fall River residents are being invited to take part in another delicious food challenge.
The Fourth of July is fast approaching and there are plenty of events planned that are packed with music, fun, and of course, food.
Here's a quick look at what's on offer across the South Coast this week.
Vote for the best hot dog place in Fall River
With so many hot dog joints in the city, including some Fall River classics, it can be hard to pick just one favorite. But the City of Fall River is inviting local foodies to do just that. As part of the Fall River Hot Dog Home Run Contest, Viva Fall River wants to hear your thoughts on which hot dog joint in the Spindle City is the best. The bracket-style contest kicks off on Sunday, June 30 and runs through Sunday, July 21. A total of 10 restaurants will participate in the initial round, with a mix of Coney Island classics and places that offer their own unique franks. Each week, customers will vote to narrow down the field, and the two top joints will go head-to-head in the World Series the week of July 14. The deadline for nominations for the first round to decide which joint will advance to the playoffs is July 6. Click here to see the lineup and cast your vote: https://bit.ly/FRHOTDOG1. The hot dog champion will be announced on National Hot Dog Day, July 21.
Get Knead on Society
If you're craving a Knead, you no longer have to cross the Washington Bridge to get your fill of delicious doughnuts from the popular Providence gourmet doughnut shop. Starting Friday, Knead doughnuts will be available at Society Coffee Bar in Somerset. As the County Street cafe teased the exciting menu addition on Facebook, what's a coffee shop without doughnuts?

Familiar faces take over management of Somerset Grill
The daily menu isn't the only thing changing at Somerset Grill these days. The popular family-style restaurant is also changing ownership. Longtime regulars Steve and Kim Ferrara recently took over as owners and are now behind the counter at the staple at 3015 County St. According to the Somerset Sentinel, the familiar breakfast, lunch and dinner menu that locals have come to love will remain, but the menu will change daily. This week's specials include lobster ravioli ($17.99), pork and littleneck ($14.49), bourbon turkey tips ($12.99) and balsamic-glazed chicken salad ($10.99).
