Asked for a message to Ireland, President Zelenskyy said: “First of all, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for your support. I would like to thank Ireland for hosting so many Ukrainian refugees. You have been with us from the very beginning of the Russian aggression.”
During the meeting, Harris is expected to voice Ireland’s support for Ukraine’s EU membership appointee.

President Zelensky made the visit on his way back from Washington, where he attended a summit marking the 75th anniversary of NATO’s founding.
Biden, 81, made a gaffe during the summit but quickly corrected himself.
“And now I want to hand this agreement over to the president of Ukraine, who has as much courage as he has resolve, ladies and gentlemen, to President Putin,” Biden said as he announced the NATO-Ukraine agreement.
Biden turned away from the podium, walked back and shouted, “President Putin! He’s going to defeat President Putin. President Zelensky, I’m focused on defeating Putin, so we have to worry about that. Anyway, Mr. President.”
While Zelensky quickly joked that he was better than Putin, the incident reinforced concerns about Biden’s age and mental strength.
