The Dil Luminati tour kicked off in Vancouver on April 27 and wrapped up at Toronto’s Rogers Centre on Saturday night. Trudeau briefly joined Dosanjh on stage, then posted on X to tell Dosanjh he’d stopped by to “wish him luck before the show.”

“Canada is an amazing country, a country where a man from Punjab can make history and fill stadiums. Our diversity is not just our strength; it’s a superpower,” Trudeau added.
“Thank you so much. It was a pleasure meeting you,” Dosanjh replied.
He said Trudeau “came to see history being made. The Rogers Centre was sold out!”
“Diversity is Canada’s strength,” he added, attaching a video of himself and members of the theatre company.

The Canadian portion of the tour began in Vancouver, passing through Winnipeg and Edmonton before returning to Toronto for the finale, with US dates also taking in Oakland, California; Dallas, Texas; and Newark, New Jersey.
The show, which played to a crowd of over 50,000 at Vancouver’s BC Place venue, is believed to be the largest performance by a Punjabi artist outside India.
He also performed sold-out shows at the Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg and Rogers Place in Edmonton.
Ahead of the tour’s launch, Live Nation, which is promoting the tour, said in a release, “Diljit will make history as the first Punjabi artist to headline both Canadian stadiums, BC Place and Rogers Centre.”
Dosanjh’s popularity in Canada is part of a trend in which Indian entertainment – music, films and live shows – is becoming more mainstream in Canada and coincides with a rise in immigration from India over the past decade.
