“As a ‘consolation gift’ she gives him Sonny, one of a new line of domestic robots made by her husband’s electronics company. At first Susie is repulsed by Sonny’s attempts to fill the void in her life, but the two gradually develop an unlikely friendship.
“Together they uncover the dark truth about what really happened to Susie’s family and become dangerously embroiled in a world she never knew existed.”
