FX/Hulu continues to deliver news and updates for fans of The Bear. For example, it was only a few months ago that we received word that season 3 of this popular drama was just around the corner. And now we know that filming for season 4 will begin soon. Meanwhile, Ayo Edebiri (who played Chef Sidney Adam in The Bear, for which he won a Golden Globe and an Emmy) also has a new movie scheduled for release, which has already wowed critics. , in fact, it just premiered at SXSW. Lots of fanfare.
Edebiri's film, Omni-Loop, a time-loop film starring Mary Louise Parker as a physicist and Edebiri as a quantum physics student, not only received positive reviews during the festival in Austin. He also received a perfect score of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.
If you like time-travel dramas with a slightly depressing feel, Omni Loop is definitely one to add to your list once it has a release date. Basically, Mary Louise Parker's character is told she has a week to live, and she has a collection of blue pills that if she keeps soaking them will send her five days into the past. In other words, she continues to live her final weeks over and over again. Edebiri's character appears to help her understand the limited and unstable time travel abilities she utilizes.
The atmosphere here is reminiscent of recent films like Linoleum, a meditative indie masterpiece quietly released last year and a story about regrets and dreams deferred, starring Jim Gaffigan and Rhea Seehorn. I feel like they are similar. “The best gifts, in movies and in life, are the ones you never expected and were there all along,” says Collider's review of Omni-His Loop. As the story travels back in time once more for a few days, “you wish you could do it all over again.”
