DuPage County Health Department announces initiative to provide free swimming lessons to Illinois children
DuPage County – The DuPage County Health Department's (DCHD) PS10M Initiative is a funding opportunity designed to provide free swim lessons to children ages 3-5 in Illinois through the Pool Safety Grant Program. I'm happy to share it with you. This proactive initiative aims to prevent childhood deaths.
The initiative focuses on public swimming facilities in areas with high rates of child drownings. Up to five public swimming facilities will each receive up to $4,500 to provide free swim lessons to children in need. Public swimming facilities include pools operated by civic and community organizations, schools, municipalities, park and recreation organizations, swimming schools, residential communities, and health centers.
Application deadline is Friday, April 12, 2024 at 11:59 PM Pacific Time. Please note that applications received after this deadline will not be considered.
Award announcements will be sent via email in May 2024. To apply, we encourage you to review the 2024 Protect Swimmers 10 Million Funding Opportunity Overview and complete the online application form at https://forms.gle/iZ2SpoEX6ur3EAjz7.
DCHD invites all public swimming facilities in Illinois to participate in this opportunity.
DCHD is a proud recipient of the Pool Safely grant since 2018. For more information about the PS10M initiative, please visit https://www.dupagehealth.org/231/Pool-Safely.
