Hartsfield-Jackson expects more than 6 million international travelers to use the airport this fiscal year, a 23% increase from 2023, Border Patrol officials said.
“CBP has always been at the forefront of technology and innovation, but we understand that the focus of our mission cannot change,” said Carlo Cortina, CBP Assistant Port Administrator.
The main technology is facial recognition.
Airports use multiple services, from kiosks to free mobile apps, to allow users to submit photos to Border Patrol agents before they arrive.

“What we're streamlining is document verification; what we're talking about is identity verification. This allows officers to hone their law enforcement skills,” Cortina said.
