Komatsu's digital solution Precision opens up new opportunities to work in a smarter and more efficient way.
Thanks to advances in technology, it is now possible to display the machine's position to within just a few centimeters, providing the basis for many features that make the day's work easier for forestry machine operators.
Precision is now expanded with many features to help increase productivity while providing operators with critical information and support to make smart decisions.
Geofencing allows you to draw digital fences around work areas or mark protected areas when planning objects. A selectable alarm alerts the operator if the machine is too close to the boundary, providing added peace of mind. Due to its high accuracy, other benefits include the ability to digitally mark boundaries and areas based on map data such as drone or his LiDAR scans. Other practical features include accurate visualization of machines on the map and higher resolution map layers.
stem cord
Another area of use is stem code visualization. This means that individual stems can be visualized with stem codes based on biodiversity considerations.
Stem coding supports the work of operators and makes it easier for them to make better decisions. It also makes it easier to comply with directives such as distance between trees in the future. Accuracy shows not only where the tree was cut, but also the exact location of the felled log. This feature allows the operator to know exactly where the wood is, even when it's dark or snowing.
This makes it easy to see the assortment on each log pile or roadside.
Improved user experience
Accuracy is constantly evolving and new features are being added. New this spring is feature guidance support for line tracking, which helps operators stick to a specific path.
The person who plans the route also sets limits for deviations. If the machine starts to deviate from the planned course, guides help the operator get back on line. This feature is very useful when planning roads etc.
It's also important to provide a smooth and intuitive user experience. Another new feature is the ability to set zoom levels for different work modes.

Zoom automatically adjusts during the job based on operator presets, ensuring a more seamless experience throughout the work day. Map layer functionality has also been improved. For example, you can import a data layer, activate boundaries such as area boundaries, and add detailed information about the data layer.
A new feature allows operators to choose how cut stems are visualized on screen. They can be viewed as individual logs for complete control over production, or grouped to provide a good overview.
