Rail services on some of London's busiest commuter routes have been halted as drivers embark on a new strike over almost two years of pay disputes.
Members of Aslef, the operating company that includes railroads serving the metropolitan area, such as Southern Southeastern Southwestern Railway, are out for the day. The affected operators are not operating trains in large parts of their networks.
Strikes are scheduled to take place on Wednesday and Thursday at different operators, but drivers are also prohibited from working overtime until Saturday, which has also caused confusion.
Passengers are being urged to check before attempting to travel by train this week.
Operators affected by today's strike include Greater Anglia, Thameslink & Southern (including Gatwick Express), South Eastern, South Western Railway, C2C, GTR's Great Northern,

Partial suspension of streetcar service

Across London's tram network, no services are scheduled before 7am or after 6pm.
From 7am to 6pm, it will only operate between Wimbledon and Reeves Corner and between East Croydon and Beckenham Junction/New Addington.
There will be no services through Croydon town center or to/from Elmer's End throughout the day.

There are currently no services between Amersham/Chesham and Moorpark, with TfL fixing a point failure at Rickmansworth and an early train failure at Baker Street, with good services on the remaining lines. .
