First graders at Two Rivers Community School recently had a challenge on how to protect birds. Here are some of the writings teachers Katie Lorenzo and Jill Schepner shared with their Post Independent.
bird protection
I think we should stop spraying chemicals on weeds near the Riverfront Trail. They go to rivers, which can harm animals that try to drink from them. Birds can also get injured if they walk on the grass and peck at you. Chemicals make it difficult to build houses. That's why I don't think it's a good idea to spray herbicides near the Riverfront Trail.

bird protection
I think we should stop spraying weeds on the golf course near Riverfront Tail. They may spray bugs and birds may eat the bugs and die. People can spray rivers and birds can drink the water and become poisoned. The chemicals can poison the fish and cause birds to die if they eat the fish. That's why I believe people should not spay near the Riverfront Trail.

Lucy's opinion
I think people should abolish golf courses. Spraying weeds can kill birds. They will cut down trees and have nowhere else to live. Spraying weeds can cause weeds to enter the water and fish may eat the spray. That's why people should abolish golf courses.

please don't throw away trash
I don't think people should litter on the Riverfront Trail. Pollution has a negative impact on the earth and birds. When humans throw garbage into water and birds drink it, it kills the birds. Birds can also get stuck in trash cans. If debris gets stuck in the egg, it can cause the egg shell to crack. I think people should stop littering on the Riverfront Trail.

protect the birds
All birds should be protected for a good reason. Golfers may be able to help birds by playing in areas where there are no trees, rivers or lakes. Water contamination can make your birds sick and cause their eggs to rot and become squishy. People should stop building roads because birds can eat the garbage left behind and die. Please join me in protecting birds.

birds must be important
Birds are important and should be protected for many reasons. Golfers should not cut down trees for nesting birds. People should not throw away garbage so that birds do not eat it, suffocate or get sick. People should not put chemicals into the grass so that the birds don't get sick from water pollution. Birds should be protected.

birds should be protected
Birds are important and should be protected for many reasons. Birds need trees for nesting, so golfers can be discouraged from cutting down trees to build golf courses. Golfers spray chemicals to kill weeds, which wash into the water and kill fish. Without fish, birds have nothing to eat. When golfers throw trash on the ground, birds can eat it and get sick. Birds should be protected in nature.

Bird Protection
I think birds should be protected for many reasons. If people hunt birds, hiking to explore nature without seeing birds in flight won't be as much fun. If you eat too many birds, you'll end up with a lot of bugs and bugs. We need to eat more vegetables and fruits. Birds can get sick from garbage and thread, so avoid littering food and drinks outdoors. Birds should be protected all over the world.

help and protect birds
Birds should be protected by everyone for several reasons. People should not cut down trees because birds need trees for nests. Golfers should not litter. This is because birds think of garbage as food. Birds need clean water to drink. Chemicals that people spray on grass can wash into water and cause illness and death. Birds should be protected all over the world.
