Telefónica Tech announced a new agreement with Microsoft to provide next-generation cybersecurity services to businesses around the world at the RSA Conference in San Francisco, California, USA.
The partnership will integrate Microsoft's advanced security and artificial intelligence solutions with Telefonica Tech's operational cybersecurity expertise. Customers benefit from proactive, integrated, automated, and real-time security management.
Telefonica Tech will expand its existing cybersecurity portfolio to include services such as detection and response, identity access management, cyber threat intelligence, and data protection to improve incident response capabilities and optimize security processes. The company plans to integrate Microsoft's cybersecurity capabilities, including the Microsoft Copilot for Security tool, with its existing security operations. This 24/7 protection is managed by his dedicated team at Telefonica Tech's DOC (Digital Operations Center) in Madrid and Bogotá, Colombia, with the highest qualifications and certifications in Microsoft technology.
Maria Jesús Almazor, COO of Spain and the Americas at Telefónica Tech: “This global collaboration between Telefónica Tech and Microsoft is an important milestone. We will take advantage of every opportunity it offers to digitize our processes and work with maximum security.”
Alberto Granados, President of Microsoft Spain, said: “The collaboration between Telefonica Tech and Microsoft will enable us to offer our customers innovative security solutions powered by artificial intelligence, aimed at improving cyber resilience.”

In 2024, Telefonica Tech added expertise in cloud security and threat protection, strengthening Microsoft's technical capabilities.
Responsible AI in Spain
This new cybersecurity agreement is a further step in the long-term cooperation between the two companies. Last February, Microsoft announced the creation of a Responsible AI Innovation Center (RAIIC) in Spain. At the center, Telefonica Tech works together with 15 other technology partners to accelerate the adoption and safe use of artificial intelligence. The center will develop training sessions, innovative AI use cases, and guidelines for the safe and responsible application of this technology.
