As jurors deliberate in Donald Trump's hush-money trial, his supporters are preparing excuses if he's found guilty.
New York State Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY), who represents Staten Island and southern Brooklyn, suggested this week that a jury made up of New Yorkers could make it harder for Trump to be acquitted.
“I have concerns about the jury because this is Manhattan, where 85 percent of the population rejected President Trump. These are people who didn't like President Trump. I wonder whether they'll get a fair trial just because of the makeup of Manhattan,” she said.

The New Abnormal reported that it was clear that Republicans would not accept a guilty verdict as valid and would claim the trial was rigged.
“This is all just groundwork for this, the same strategy Trump used in the run up to the 2020 election,” co-host Andy Levy said. “The advice to Donald Trump would have been, if you don't want to be tried in Manhattan, don't commit your crimes there.”
“Yeah, he should be a criminal offender in Alabama or something,” co-host Daniel Moody said.
“It's amazing how double-dealing they are, considering that Eric Trump took a photo this week saying, 'Look at all the Trump supporters in New York,' and the other guy said, 'Look at all the Trump supporters in New York,'” producer Jesse Cannon said. “Let's say there's a split verdict in this trial. You'll say, 'Yeah, it was a fair trial,' but if he's found guilty, you'll say, 'We all know there was fraud.'”
Additionally, Danielle Moody will speak with Syracuse University Professor Jen M. Jackson about her new book, Black Women Taught Us: An Intimate History of Black Feminism.
