LAKE PLACID — Travel + Leisure magazine readers have once again named AAA Four-Diamond Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa one of the Top 500 Hotels in the World, the only hotel in the Adirondack Park and the only Lake Placid resort on the readers' ranking.
In the World's Best Awards survey, the century-old Lake Placid Hotel was ranked second among resort destinations outside New York City and the only hotel north of the Catskill Mountains in its New York state category.
According to Travel and Leisure, hundreds of thousands of votes were cast in different parts of the world between October 2022 and February 2023. The ratings were based on rooms/facilities, location, service, food and value.
Writer Jessica Vadillo wrote the section “Travel & Leisure Readers' Top 5 New York State Resorts for 2023” and also edited the Best 500 Hotels section.
“Upstate New York's endless hiking trails, gorgeous lakes and famous mountain ranges are a haven for busy travelers from around the world,” Vadillo writes.
In recent years, Mirror Lake Inn has been praised as the best waterfront hotel in the Northeast by USA Today 10Best, the best hotel in the Capital Region by the Albany Times-Union, the best ski hotel in the East by OnTheSnow.com, the best hotel in North America, the second best resort in the Mid-Atlantic region by Conde Nast Traveler, and a Best of Award of Excellence (for two glasses) for The View Restaurant by Wine Spectator.
