The Hargreeves family returns for one final round of apocalyptic time-travel mayhem in Season 4 of Netflix's critically acclaimed series The Umbrella Academy, based on the Dark Horse Comics series by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá and adapted for Netflix by Jeremy Slater and Steve Blackman. Check out the first trailer!
In season 4, it seems the team is preparing at least one more time loop for the finale. As always with the Umbrella Academy gang, after the unsettling reset and cliffhanger ending of last season, it will open with more intense action and superhero sibling shenanigans. As the final season will only have six episodes (all previous series were ten), the action will have to be more condensed, but judging by the trailer, there's still time for the weird stuff that makes The Umbrella Academy so fun to watch (three words: Footloose dance battles! And three more words: sentient telekinetic cubes!), this time with even more tentacles, Santa Claus, Klaus Kartz 2: Electric Boogaloo, and Viktor powering up Super Saiyan style.

Here's Netflix's official description of season 4: “The Hargreeves siblings are scattered after their climactic showdown at Hotel Oblivion completely resets the timeline. Stripped of their powers, each must survive on their own and find a new normal, with widely varying degrees of success. But the trappings of their sinister new world prove too much to ignore for long. Their father, Reginald, is alive and well, and has stepped out of the shadows and into public life, overseeing a powerful and nefarious business empire. A mysterious organization called the Keepers are holding secret meetings, believing the reality they're living in is a lie and that a great reckoning is approaching. With these strange new forces plotting all around them, the Umbrella Academy must come together one last time to finally set things right, risking upending the precarious peace they've all worked so hard to secure.”
The Umbrella Academy stars Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min, and Ritu Arya. Seasons 1-3 of The Umbrella Academy are available to watch on Netflix ahead of season 4 premiering on August 8.
