A large-scale economic mission from the Netherlands visited Vietnam from March 19 to 22, 2024, with the participation of 40 companies from the agri-food and horticulture sectors, under the leadership of Minister of Nature and Nitrogen Policy at the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality Christiaan van der Wal. The mission played an important role in the bilateral relations between Vietnam and the Netherlands, as 2024 marks the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam-Netherlands Strategic Partnership Agreement on Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security and the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Strengthening intergovernmental cooperation
Minister Christiane van der Wal and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoang committed to working together towards a sustainable food system and also discussed the significant progress made in the 10 years of the Strategic Partnership Agreement on Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security between the two countries.
Going forward, horticulture and sustainable aquaculture will be key areas of cooperation, driven by the Dutch and Vietnamese private sectors.
