The Skift Travel Wellness Index rose three percentage points to 108 in April 2024, boosted by the spring travel season. This represents an 8% increase from last year.
All regions tracked in the index saw an increase in travel performance compared to March 2024, indicating increased travel activity. The April surge can be attributed to the spring break travel period, a great time for families to plan short trips and take advantage of school holidays.
All regions except Latin America outperformed last year's performance levels, which improved compared to March 2024 but remains at 99% of April 2023. To gain insight into the factors influencing travel in Latin America, read our latest report, “Skift Travel Health Index: April 2024 Highlights.”
A recent survey by TripAdvisor uncovered travel trends and consumer sentiment for spring 2024.
