To celebrate World Oceans Day on June 8th and to support luxury skincare brand La Mer's Blue Heart Initiative, The Estée Lauder Companies' travel retail division (ELC Travel Retail) has committed to renewing its grant funding to EarthEcho International.
The goal is to further engage young people in EarthEcho International's important marine conservation work through programs focused on leadership development, environmental education and community outreach.
This year, the La Mer Blue Heart Oceans Fund will continue to support the nonprofit's mission to protect 30% of our oceans by 2030.
To mark the occasion, ELC Travel Retail will also host an employee education event on the importance of ocean conservation in partnership with Earth Echo International.
Through its Blue Heart Initiative, La Mer says it aims to give back to the ocean through awareness programs, partnerships with inspiring environmentalists and charitable donations through the La Mer Blue Heart Oceans Fund. The luxury skincare brand is committed to protecting marine habitats around the world in the hopes of ensuring abundant oceans for future generations.
Sandra Main, Global Brand President, La Mer, said: “We are proud to further our partnership with Earth Echo International and support the organization's important work in ocean conservation. By supporting Earth Echo International, we aim to invest in the health of our oceans and empower the next generation of leaders to create positive change for our planet.”
“More than 70% of the Earth's surface is covered by oceans, yet only 7% of that is protected. In celebration of World Oceans Day, we reaffirm our commitment to our oceans by actively supporting individuals working to ensure their abundance for future generations,” said Patrick Bouchard, SVP/GM, ELC Travel Retail La Mer and Le Labo.
“We are proud that ELC Travel Retail's donation will help EarthEcho International expand its education programs and efforts, inspiring and equipping more young people to become advocates for ocean conservation.”
Philippe Cousteau, co-founder of EarthEcho International, expressed his gratitude for the continued partnership: “We are incredibly grateful for La Mer and ELC Travel Retail's generous support in empowering young people around the world to build a sustainable future for our oceans. Protecting and restoring our oceans is an exciting opportunity that connects us all.”
