“Eyeris is the leading technology company of the year,” said Modar Alaoui, founder and CEO of Eyeris.
It won the “Automotive Product of the Year” award at the 2024 AutoTech Awards in Detroit.
In addition to these awards, Eyeris reached a significant milestone this year by becoming an AutoTech: Detroit finalist for the 10th consecutive time, marking a historic milestone since the company's first finalist nomination in 2015. This achievement further solidifies Eyeris' position as the most awarded automotive in-cabin sensing AI company in the world.
The prestigious title of “Automotive Technology Company of the Year” recognizes Eyeris' relentless pursuit of excellence in the evolution of in-car sensing AI, prioritizing human-centric AI and ambient intelligence for both safety and comfort.
Equally important, the Automotive Tech Product of the Year award recognized Eyeris' in-car monocular 3D sensing AI for monitoring the entire vehicle interior. Addressing the industry-wide shortage of depth-aware in-car sensing data, Eyeris' advanced computer vision AI models regress 3D data from any 2D image sensor, including the latest 5MP RGBIR sensors, avoiding the need for Time of Flight (ToF), stereo cameras or other 3D sensors. Additionally, the in-car 3D sensing software solution supports flexible AI-enabled processors and chips, including the latest image sensor processors (ISPs) previously announced, while maintaining computational efficiency comparable to 2D outputs.

Eyeris' in-car 3D sensing AI models enable many new applications beyond traditional driver and passenger monitoring. These new AI models include groundbreaking capabilities such as pre- and post-crash 3D scene reconstruction, seamless integration with ADAS and crash systems including depth-aware airbag deployment, and streamlining insurance claims and procedures through real-time data exchange.
Earlier this year at CES 2024, a production reference design featuring Eyeris' award-winning in-cabin monocular 3D sensing technology was unveiled and demonstrated. The solution validates the efficacy and innovation of Eyeris' technology in shaping the future of automotive AI by reducing the cost of 3D sensing, accelerating time to market and minimizing integration risk for OEMs and Tier 1s.
“We are thrilled to receive two of this year's most significant AutoTech awards,” said Modar Alaoui, founder and CEO of Eyeris. “This monumental achievement highlights our company's long-standing commitment to innovation and relentless pursuit of excellence in human-centric in-car sensing AI. It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of all our team members, who certainly deserve this recognition,” added Alaoui.

Dave Zoia, Senior Director of Content at Wards Intelligence, commented, “Eyeris impressed the judges on multiple fronts. Its groundbreaking 3D sensing technology and AI innovations have established the company in the crucial yet developing field of the digital cockpit. Its product portfolio is versatile and well-suited for both personal and fleet vehicle applications. The company's focus on improving safety and customer experience at a low cost aligns perfectly with the needs of the industry as it pursues L2+ and beyond autonomy. And as automakers continue their transition to software-defined vehicles, its proven ability to work with SoC providers will be an increasingly valuable asset. This award marks the culmination of a decade of AutoTech nominations and wins for Eyeris, and we look forward to seeing what the company does next.”
Zoia added: “Iris' Automotive Product of the Year winning AI-powered Cabin Sensing technology checks all the boxes – it has the potential to increase safety, improve user experience for vehicle occupants, increase driving automation and meet regulatory requirements – all while keeping costs down and limiting the computing power required. As the industry moves towards software-driven, autonomous and connected cars, Iris looks well poised to play a key role with its unique Cabin Sensing system.”
