Star Wars Outlaws received an extended gameplay walkthrough during the Ubisoft Forward event, and it looks fantastic.
Ahead of the game's release this summer, Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment have revealed more details about the upcoming open-world Star Wars game, including a preview of what space travel and combat will be like.
The 10-minute walkthrough sees protagonist Kay Vess travel to Mos Eisley to track down a skilled gunslinger. She starts out in Acura Station, a relic from the Clone Wars that serves as a trading hub for illegal space contraband. There are also apparently plenty of NPCs to interact with, though we never get a chance to see them.
Perhaps the most exciting part of the preview is Kay's journey into space. Starting at the landing dock of Aqura Station, Kay makes her way straight into the spacecraft and into the cockpit, where she's soon at the controls and blasting off among the stars.
The transition from the station to open space appears seamless, plus there don't appear to be any loading screens while entering hyperspace or a planet's atmosphere.
Star Wars Outlaws is scheduled to release on August 30, 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
