F1 News: Zak Brown describes Red Bull as 'pretty toxic environment'
Following Red Bull's early-season run off the track, McLaren CEO Zak Brown gave a blunt assessment of his rivals, saying he doesn't believe their problems are solved.
“It's a pretty toxic environment at Red Bull because of everything that's happened,” Brown said on Bloomberg's Hot Pursuit podcast. “It's only going to get worse.”
“Adrian Newey's departure is a big deal because I think there are a lot of people who are still in the team who probably want to work with Adrian Newey.
“I've already commented on the CVs flying around. There are CVs flying around all the time, but we're seeing a higher level of discomfort there.”

Carlos Sainz receives message from Mercedes about Toto Wolff's plans
PlanetF1.com understands that Carlos Sainz has been ruled out of the running for a seat at Mercedes, at least for the time being, but team principal Toto Wolff praised the driver's speed and explained that a change of tack may come into play when deciding on Lewis Hamilton's successor next year.
“First of all, I think Carlos deserves to be at the top, he's done a fantastic job,” Wolff told Sky F1.
“But for us, we started down a path of saying, 'going forward, we want to reinvent ourselves a bit,' and Kimi Antonelli is definitely part of that.”
“We haven't made a decision about next year yet but we didn't want to keep Carlos waiting because he needs to make his own decision and that's only fair. But he's doing a great job.”

Mercedes declares upgrade after further improvements in Canada
Touching briefly on the subject of Mercedes, technical director James Allison said the upgrades made to the W15 had had a positive effect on the car, making it “more of a driver's friend”.
He said: “The Canadian circuit, although unusual, is more normal than Monaco, so we were hoping for a bit more performance in Canada than in Monaco. Monaco has been a bit more performant, the car is easier to drive, it's more balanced and it's more like a friend to the drivers, rather than something they're fighting against, which has been an issue in the early part of the season.”

Lando Norris makes worrying prediction about F1 2026 as Canada approaches
Lando Norris has expressed concern that the introduction of F1 rules in 2026 will again cause cars to fall apart after last weekend's close qualifying in Canada.
As a result, he believes close sessions like the Canadian qualifiers won't happen again until at least 2028 or possibly 2029, following the regulation changes.
However, as is often the case with any regulation change in F1, the early stages will see one or two teams make significant advances over their rivals while others struggle to catch up.
